A seminar on “Cancer: New Trends and Management Options”

A seminar on “Cancer: New Trends and Management Options” was organized by the Health and Nutrition committee on the 7^th of October, 2024. Dr. Nadarajah Jeyakumaran, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, National Cancer Institute of Sri Lanka and Dr. Dumindu Wijewardana, Medical Officer-in-charge, Cancer Early Detection Center were the guest speakers. The moderator was Dr. Sanath Hettige, Consultant in Family Medicine and the Chairman, Health and Nutrition Committee of the OPA. The speakers highlighted the importance of seeking prompt treatment for cancer as well the lifestyle changes that could reduce the risk of developing this disease. The latest treatments that are improving the prognosis of cancer were also described.
