Post-budget seminar and discussion
A seminar and discussion on “Navigating Economic Recovery: Sri Lanka’s Fiscal Policy,Investment Strategies and Future Prospects” was successfully conducted on the 20th of November at the OPA auditorium with the active participation of members. This informative event, which focused on the ramifications of the budget in alleviating the economic crisis, was graced by Mr. Mahinda Siriwardana, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, as key note speaker.The other eminent guest speakers were Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman, CeylonChamber of Commerce and Country Managing Partner, Ernst and Young, and Mr. Suresh Perera, Head of Tax and Regulatory, KPMG. Senior Prof. Kennedy Gunawardana, Head of the Department of Accounting, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Mr. Chaaminda Kumarasiri, Chairman, HCP Consulting and Non-Executive Director, Sanasa Development Bank, served as panelists while the moderator was Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President, Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and Past President of the OPA.
The event was organized by President Mr. Sarath Gamage, President-Elect Mr. Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake, General Secretary Mr. Tisara de Silva, Treasurer Mr. Ruchira Perera and attended by Executive Council and General Forum members.
