The Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) is a body of Professionals presently belonging to, 51 member associations catering to 34 disciplines with a total membership of over 60,000.
Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) at the Annual General Meeting
The 49th Annual General Meeting of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka took place at the Auditorium of the OPA on the 30th October, 2024, with the attendance of key office bearers, past presidents and members of the General Forum. During the meeting, President-Elect Mr. Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake was sworn in as President.
Mr. Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake, Attorney-at-Law, was sworn in as the 44th President of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) for the year 2024/2025, at its Annual General Meeting on 30th October 2024. Before being elected President, Mr. Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake held several positions at the OPA as General Secretary, Vice President (4 consecutive years), and Assistant Secretary.
New Office Bearers Commence Term Continuing a long-standing tradition on the 1st of November, the newly-elected Office Bearers assumed office with a welcome breakfast hosted by the OPA Secretariat. The breakfast was attended by President Sujeewa Lal Dahanayake, Attorney-at-Law, President-Elect Jayantha Gallehewa, General Secretary Tisara de Silva, Treasurer Chandrasiri Kalupahana, along with key office bearers, past presidents and OPA staff.
Mr. Jayantha Gallehewa was elected as the President-Elect at the Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA) at the Annual General Meeting which was held on the 30th of October, 2024. Mr. Jayantha Gallehewa will be the 45th President of the OPA for the year 2025/2026, which is the year OPA celebrates its 51th anniversary.
